Senior Staff Technical Project Manager- Spark Deployment

About the Role:

The "Spark" modular data center is Crusoe’s answer to congested grid queues and labor bottlenecks, enabling rapid deployment of compute capacity. To meet our ambitious deployment goals through 2030, we need world-class project execution. We are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to own the end-to-end lifecycle of Spark deployments: from powered land project approval to the moment the Spark cluster is "Available to Customer".

This role would require travel to sites about 10% of the time.

What You'll Be Working On:

Deployment Lifecycle Management

- End-to-End Ownership: Manage the project schedule, budget, and resource allocation for one or more Spark deployments to ensure projects meet or exceed the targeted Available to Customer dates.

- Master Schedule: Create and maintain the project’s master schedule. Know what’s on your critical path, and have a plan to accelerate your schedule. Ensure your team knows what their next deadline is, and ensure the project schedule is internalized by the project team.

- Site Readiness: Coordinate with Crusoe and 3rd party subject matter experts on site design, permitting, procurement, and utility interconnection timelines to ensure sites are ready the moment Sparks arrive.

- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify bottlenecks in procurement, construction, networking, and power readiness. Always have a "Plan B" to maintain velocity.

Cross-Functional Orchestration

- Internal Connectivity: Serve as the air traffic controller between Real Estate, Finance, Manufacturing Planning, Cloud Product & Procurement, Site Design, Construction, and the Spark Business Unit on a project basis. Following Spark program best practices, establish and run weekly team meetings, adjusting and supplementing with ad hoc meetings based on the project objectives.

- External Partner Coordination: Manage relationships with various third-party contractors and suppliers across site design and procurement.

- Reporting: Provide high-fidelity project status updates for the executives, focusing on predictability and critical path items, coordinating with the Lead Technical Project Manager to help develop, manage and distribute a Spark deployments dashboard.

Process Standardization

- The Playbook: Contribute to the creation and refinement of the "Spark Deployment Playbook," standardizing how we handle fast, predictable deployment cadences from end-to-end. Meticulously record lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
